Job Summary

Seeking a dynamic and results-driven New Business Underwriter / Account Executive to join a fast-paced and growing MGA team. This hybrid role is critical in driving new business growth by underwriting risks and fostering relationships with clients and brokers. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in both underwriting and account management, as well as strong customer service and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • New Business Development: Proactively generate and manage new business opportunities by partnering with brokers, agents, and clients. Cultivate strong relationships to support long-term growth.
  • Underwriting: Assess and evaluate risks to provide accurate and competitive underwriting decisions that align with company policies and objectives.
  • Client Management: Serve as a key point of contact for assigned brokers and clients, nurturing relationships and ensuring their ongoing satisfaction.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams (such as claims, operations, and marketing) to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Report and Analysis: Prepare and present reports on new clients, policy performance, and market developments to senior management.
  • Compliance: Ensure all underwriting practices comply with relevant regulatory standards and company guidelines.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience in underwriting and/or account management, preferably 3+ years in the insurance or MGA industry.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, insurance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of underwriting processes, principles, and risk analysis. Proficiency in insurance software and systems.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, along with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical Skills: High attention to detail with the ability to assess complex information to make sound, data-driven decisions.
  • Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to think critically and develop creative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Certifications (Preferred): Relevant designations are a plus but not mandatory.
