The premier specialist in workers’ compensation and a leader in property and casualty insurance is seeking a Senior Trial Attorney to join their growing team in Roseville, California!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Handle highly complex workers' compensation cases under the state administrative process (trial level).
- Take depositions, analyze testimony, prepare and file related reports.
- Represent the Company in appearances at hearings and conferences; prepare and file related reports.
- Research and prepare highly complex pleadings for cases under the, state administrative process (trial level).
- Provide advice, training, and recommendations on case handling strategies and tactics to representatives of the Claims department.
- Perform legal research at all levels, from advising clients through the appellate procedures.
Education and/or Experience:
- Juris Doctorate Law school graduate and member in good standing of the State Bar required
- 7+ Years as a Trial Attorney for legal defense of workers' compensation claims required
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, in an articulate, persuasive, precise and professional manner.
- Experience with training small groups in current legal practices and procedures in the field of workers’ compensation defense and subrogation.
- Must be willing and able to travel using all means of public transportation, as well as automobile driving, to various California venues when live appearances are requested or required
- Valid Driver License in good standing
Salary/Benefits:
- $175K-$220K/year (based on experience) + discretionary bonus
- PTO: 3 weeks/year Vacation, 2 weeks/year Sick Leave
