Actuary (Remote)
Our client is seeking an experienced Actuary to join their growing team in a fully remote, full-time, permanent role. This position offers the opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping actuarial strategy across multiple insurance product lines. The Actuary will contribute to pricing, reserving, and financial analysis while partnering cross-functionally to support profitability, regulatory compliance, and long-term business objectives. The ideal candidate brings at least four years of actuarial experience, with a strong preference for homeowners and commercial lines exposure.
Key Responsibilities
Pricing & Ratemaking

Lead ratemaking efforts and develop pricing indications to support underwriting profitability.

Conduct quarterly rate adequacy reviews and analyze internal and external data sources.

Support and enhance pricing tools, models, and methodologies.

Review and implement new product strategies, rate changes, and product design initiatives.
Reserving & Financial Analysis

Perform quarterly reserve reviews and monthly IBNR roll-forwards.

Support reserve analysis and collaborate with accounting, external actuaries, and auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Provide actuarial data and insights to support reserving, underwriting, and financial initiatives.
Regulatory & Stakeholder Collaboration

Manage the rate filing process and interact with regulatory authorities, including providing testimony as needed.

Partner with internal teams across actuarial, underwriting, product, and finance.

Present analyses, findings, and recommendations to senior leadership.
Data, Analytics & Special Projects

Perform data manipulation, analysis, and automation while ensuring data integrity and consistency.

Lead and support special projects related to pricing, reserving, and financial strategy.

Stay current on industry trends, regulatory developments, and advancements in actuarial and data analytics.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Risk Management, or a related field.

Minimum of 4 years of actuarial experience (homeowners and commercial lines preferred).

ACAS designation strongly preferred.

Commitment to pursuing FCAS is preferred but not required.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint.

Strong experience working with insurance data and actuarial models.

Proficiency in SQL, MySQL, Oracle, or similar database languages.

Experience with R, Python, VBA, or comparable programming tools.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and research capabilities.

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and lead projects independently or collaboratively.
Compensation & Benefits

Competitive base salary: $125,000 – $140,000
