Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and professional Employee Benefits Account Manager to join a growing team. This role is pivotal in managing and nurturing client relationships, ensuring seamless execution of benefits processes, and delivering exceptional service to the portfolio of small-to-medium business (SMB) clients. The ideal candidate will have a proactive mindset, strong technical expertise, and a passion for providing tailored solutions to meet client needs.

Compensation Package

  • Salary: $100,000 - $125,000 annually
  • Commission: 2.5% on all renewal business
  • 401(k): 4% company match
  • Comprehensive benefits package

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of SMB benefits clients, managing relationships end-to-end.
  • Lead client renewals and open enrollment processes with a proactive and strategic approach.
  • Provide empathetic and precise employee-level support, including eligibility changes, enrollment troubleshooting, claims navigation, and benefits inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and other related benefits regulations, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Collaborate with third-party administrators (TPAs), carriers, and vendors to resolve issues efficiently and maintain a consistent client experience.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of workflows, templates, and service standards as the agency scales.
  • Leverage modern benefits platforms and tools to enhance accuracy, reduce manual tasks, and keep clients informed.
  • Partner with internal teams, including placement, producers, and operations leadership, to improve client retention and outcomes.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience managing benefits accounts end-to-end.
  • Licenses/Designations: Life and Health (L&H) license required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Epic software is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of benefits administration, including ACA, ERISA, and COBRA compliance.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Demonstrated accountability, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
