Job Summary

Seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Specialist to join a team. This role involves traveling to client locations to conduct safety inspections, identify workplace hazards, and provide recommendations for compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of OSHA regulations, experience in safety training, and the ability to develop and implement safety programs. Responsibilities

  • Conduct safety inspections of worksites and facilities, ensuring compliance with OSHA 1926 and 1910 regulations.
  • Identify workplace hazards and provide detailed recommendations for compliance and mitigation.
  • Develop and implement safety programs and site-specific safety manuals.
  • Conduct safety training sessions for client employees, including topics such as forklift safety, aerial lift safety, and hazard communication.
  • Interact with general contractors and governmental agencies to discuss and address safety protocols.
  • Provide support in creating and maintaining safety documentation and manuals.
  • Travel within New York State (50-75%) to client locations, including Long Island, the Five Boroughs, and Westchester areas.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA 1926 and 1910 regulations (all subparts).
  • Certification in forklift safety training, aerial lift safety training, and boom safety training is highly desirable.
  • OSHA-certified trainer and NYS CR-59 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain certification during employment).
  • Self-motivated and proactive in identifying problems and developing effective solutions.
  • Strong business acumen with excellent communication skills to interact with all levels of management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively within New York State.
