  • Develop and lead the group benefits division, from initial sales efforts to long-term strategy and structure.
  • Identify cross-sell opportunities within the existing commercial lines book of business.
  • Prospect, consult, and close new group benefits accounts (including group health, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and carrier partners.
  • Provide consultative guidance to business owners and HR leaders on plan design, compliance, and cost-management strategies.
  • Coordinate enrollment meetings and ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new group clients.
  • Over time, assist in hiring and training an account manager to handle service and renewals as the book grows.

Qualifications:

  • 5–10 years of experience in group benefits sales or consulting.
  • Strong knowledge of group health and ancillary benefit products.
  • Experience working with small to mid-sized businesses; cross-selling experience a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and strategically.
  • Holds an active L&H (Life and Health) insurance license (NY license preferred or willingness to obtain).
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and client relationship skills.
  • Familiarity with major group benefits carriers and platforms.

Compensation & Perks:

  • Salary: Base + commissions  open
  • Competitive benefits package, paid time off, professional development opportunities, etc.
  • Remote flexibility with support from a collaborative team.
  • Opportunity to build and lead a division with hiring and leadership potential as growth milestones are met.
  • Access to a strong commercial client base with immediate cross-sell opportunities.
