Job Summary

Seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Underwriting & Financial Analyst to join a Employee Benefits team. This role will focus on managing and supporting employee benefits for clients, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, AD&D, Long-term Disability, Short-Term Disability, and Voluntary Benefits. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while delivering high-quality results. This is an in-office position with opportunities for professional growth in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Compensation Package

  • Salary: $75,000 annually
  • 401(k): Yes

Responsibilities

  • Prepare Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and analyze marketing results.
  • Design, distribute, and evaluate responses to surveys and RFPs.
  • Perform financial analysis, including benefits cost projections, plan design modeling, and employee contribution recovery models.
  • Create benchmark data and trend analysis for clients.
  • Make sound underwriting decisions based on financial results.
  • Conduct proactive financial monitoring and review for assigned cases.
  • Develop monthly financial reporting packages, including premium, claims, membership, commission, and cash reconciliation information.
  • Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial statements and projections.
  • Assist in quarterly presentations to clients on the financial performance of insurance programs.
  • Conduct new business financial evaluations as needed by the sales team.
  • Provide timely, courteous, and accurate responses to inquiries, conducting research when necessary and communicating results.
  • Process all necessary paperwork in adherence to department workflows and procedures.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Education: Relevant degree or equivalent experience in finance, insurance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Life and Health (L&H) license required.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with Epic software is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, excellent communication skills, ability to work independently, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
