Job Description

Senior Program Manager – Commercial Insurance

Job Summary

A growing specialty insurance organization is seeking a Senior Program Manager to oversee the strategic and operational success of multiple commercial lines programs.

This individual will be responsible for the overall growth, retention, and performance of designated programs. The ideal candidate has experience managing P&C programs or large commercial accounts, excels in client and carrier relations, and enjoys leading cross-functional initiatives across marketing, underwriting, operations, and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the annual planning and execution strategy for assigned insurance programs, including revenue forecasting, marketing, and operational alignment.

  • Monitor financial performance and identify areas of opportunity to increase program profitability and retention.

  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients, associations, and strategic partners; act as a trusted advisor and point of contact.

  • Collaborate across departments — including underwriting, client service, claims, marketing, and accounting — to ensure alignment and service excellence.

  • Oversee and approve all marketing and service deliverables for assigned programs.

  • Provide high-level oversight on complex coverage, compliance issues, and program design decisions.

  • Conduct executive-level presentations and contribute to new business development and onboarding when needed.

  • Stay current on industry trends, carrier appetite, and regulatory changes that may affect program structure or performance.

  • Represent the company professionally at conferences, client meetings, and industry events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Insurance, or a related field — or equivalent experience.

  • Strong knowledge of commercial P&C products and rating methodologies.

  • Prior experience overseeing or managing insurance programs or large commercial accounts.

  • Comfortable presenting to executive leadership and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven relationship-building and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to travel periodically for business-related events.

This is a high-impact, high-visibility role within a collaborative and fast-paced organization. It’s ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and wants to play a key role in driving the growth and success of national or regional insurance programs.
