COMPENSATION:
- $55,000 - $60,000/year

REQUIREMENTS:
- 1+ years of commercial underwriting experience, preferably in commercial auto or transportation lines
- Strong knowledge of commercial auto insurance coverage, rating methodologies, and risk assessment practices
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume renewal portfolio
- Proficient in underwriting software systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with brokers and internal teams
- Bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, risk management, or a related field preferred
- CPCU, AU, or other relevant industry designations a plus
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate and underwrite renewal policies for commercial auto accounts, ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines, company risk appetite, and regulatory compliance
- Analyze loss history, risk characteristics, and coverage needs to determine pricing, terms, and conditions
- Collaborate with agents and brokers to negotiate renewals, clarify submissions, and maintain strong business relationships
- Identify accounts that require modifications or non-renewal due to risk exposure or loss performance
- Ensure timely processing of renewals and related documentation in internal systems
- Provide guidance and mentorship to underwriting assistants or junior underwriters as needed
- Participate in audit and quality review processes to ensure underwriting discipline and documentation standards
