Job Description

National Brokerage seeking a Commercial Lines Marketing Specialist: 

Purpose: Retain and grow business by securing new and retain existing business through strategic policy placement and technical expertise, servicing and managing client and prospective client relationships both internally and externally while collaborating with team members to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve client satisfaction.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the new and renewal process for all assigned and prospective clients including loss trend analysis, market analysis, the negotiation of renewal pricing, preparing the renewal proposals.
  2. Support sales team with new business meetings and implementation of new clients. 
  3. Establish, cultivate, and manage carrier partnerships and internal resources throughout the organization to optimize coverage, services, and pricing. 
  4. Identify new opportunities, market trends, and new product and service offerings to leadership and team.
  5. Implement marketing strategies set for the department incorporating new products and services, tailor unique coverage needs for select markets.
  6. Review and prepare monthly marketing analysis to measure progress in achieving department goals and objectives. 
  7. Identify gaps in coverage and advise the team with options; as well as work through complex coverage needs.
  8. Responsible for loss analysis, coverage comparisons, accuracy of policy forms, for select clients. 
  9. Ensure matters are tended to in relation to the assigned book of business, including but not limited to processing policies/endorsements, invoicing, issuance of certificates of insurance, premium breakdowns, auto ID cards, policy changes, as needed.
  10. Ensure internal compliance and client disclosure requirements, policies, endorsements, and certificates meet client expectations, legal requirements, and insurance operations.
  11. Support training initiatives for new service and sales teammate, including to create and present client educational materials for carrier value-add services to the sales and services teams.
  12. Promote a commitment to achieve or exceed internal and external performance standards.
  13. Follow agency guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  14. Promote teamwork within department and profit center through support, knowledge sharing and a positive attitude.
  15. Participate in training opportunities to remain current on industry information, new product development, legislation, coverages, technology, and continuing education required for valid licensing. 
  16. Attend internal and external meetings.
  17. All other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience & Knowledge:

Required:

  • Valid Property and Casualty Insurance Producer license in good standing. 
  • Proficient knowledge of complex insurance coverages, contracts, and state regulations where business is conducted.
  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Windows environment, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Power Point, and Publisher.  Able to create, edit, and merge letters, spreadsheets, labels, etc.
  • Proficient knowledge use of office equipment (including but not limited to copy machines, printers, faxes, binding machine, etc.)
  • 4+ years’ experience in the insurance industry, or a related field.

 

Preferred:

  • College Degree in a business-related field. 
  • Professional Designation specific to area of specialty (ie, ARM, CIC, RPLU)To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Physical Requirements Necessary on a Regular Basis:

  • Ability to independently visit clients, prospects, and make related calls to others approximately 40%-50% of time.        Ability to travel for industry and carrier events approximately 10-15% of time.
  • Ability to perform 30% sedentary work, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and exert negligible force frequently; may be asked to exert up to 20 pounds of force periodically, as needed.
  • Vision sufficient for use of a computer monitor.
  • Manual dexterity, arm, and upper body range of motion sufficient for use of a keyboard, mouse and telephone on a constant basis, 7-8 hour per day.
  • Speech and hearing sufficient for phone and in-person communication.
  • Physical efforts include repetitive small motor activity, grasping, verbally communicating detailed and important information to others quickly and accurately, stooping, reaching, standing, lifting light objects less than 10 pounds frequently, and climbing occasionally.
