Job Summary

An established agency is seeking an experienced and dynamic Commercial Lines Department Manager to join their growing team. This role requires strong management skills, extensive knowledge of commercial lines insurance, and the ability to drive departmental performance and client satisfaction.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Commercial Lines team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations to team members.
  • Oversee the servicing and growth of a commercial lines book of business, ensuring client retention and satisfaction.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Ensure the department operates efficiently and complies with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve departmental goals, including revenue growth and operational efficiency.
  • Train and develop staff to enhance their skills and knowledge, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
  • Address and resolve complex issues related to client accounts and departmental operations.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless integration of services and optimal client experience.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on departmental performance, including financial metrics and client satisfaction levels.

 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Proven experience in managing a team within the insurance industry, preferably in commercial lines.
  • Deep understanding of commercial lines insurance products, services, and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a book of business, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions based on data.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional service to clients and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Holds an active Property and Casualty (P&C) Insurance License.
  • Preferred Agency Management System Experience: AMS360
  • 3+ years of relevant insurance industry experience preferred.
  • Previous marketing and quoting experience is needed.
  • Previous experience with the following carriers is highly preferred: Auto Owners, Citizens, Acuity, Travelers, Frankenmuth, Fremont
  • Willingness/ability to travel as needed for client meetings and business engagements.
  • Above average computer skills with the capacity to master essential software programs.
