Overview: We are seeking a Senior Underwriting Specialist with expertise in Commercial Lines to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in underwriting and a strong understanding of commercial insurance, particularly in the construction and builders' risk sectors.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and underwrite commercial insurance products within the specified $100k-$500k range.
• Assess and underwrite complex risks in the commercial construction industry.
• Analyze and underwrite Builders' Risk policies, ensuring accuracy and adherence to underwriting guidelines.
• Collaborate with the underwriting team to facilitate smooth policy issuance and renewal processes.
• Provide expert guidance and support to junior underwriters and assist in their professional development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in commercial underwriting, with a focus on construction and builders' risk.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting principles, commercial lines of business, and risk evaluation.
• Demonstrated expertise in underwriting commercial insurance within the specified $100k-$500k range.
• Professional certifications such as CPCU, ARM, or other relevant designations are preferred.

Day-to-day:

• Analyzing and underwriting a variety of commercial insurance applications.
• Interacting with brokers and clients to gather necessary information for risk assessment.
• Collaborating with the underwriting team to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Conducting research and staying updated on industry trends and regulations.
• Providing mentorship and training to junior underwriters, fostering a collaborative team environment.
