Associate Broker – P&C
Job Summary
An established agency is seeking a skilled Associate Broker to join their team. This position is responsible for managing property and casualty excess and surplus (E&S) renewal placements while working closely with retail agents to ensure smooth and efficient handling of accounts. This role involves reviewing submissions, marketing accounts to E&S carriers, and presenting quotes to retail agents. The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years of experience in the wholesale insurance space and a solid understanding of P&C coverage in the excess markets.
Responsibilities
- Review incoming submissions from retail agents for renewal accounts, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
- Actively market renewal accounts to excess and surplus (E&S) carriers, leveraging industry relationships and knowledge to obtain competitive quotes.
- Prepare and present quotes to retail agents, providing clear and comprehensive information on coverage options and pricing.
- Submit bind requests in a timely manner, coordinating with carriers and ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
- Send binders to retail agents, ensuring that all policy details are accurately communicated and documented.
- Manage a renewal book of business, handling the marketing and quoting process for various lines of property and casualty coverage in the excess markets.
Qualifications/Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in the wholesale insurance space, with a strong background in property and casualty coverage, particularly within the excess markets - is preferred.
- Prior experience working in a wholesale insurance environment is required.
- In-depth understanding of E&S markets and the renewal placement process.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly and persuasively to retail agents.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to review and process submissions accurately.
- Familiarity with industry software and tools used for submission, quoting, and account management.
- Holds an active Property and Casualty (P&C) Insurance License.
