Job Description

• Strong Underwriting, Finance, or Legal background preferred.
• Lead and direct a dedicated team to ensure seamless service.
• Assist clients with navigating their options and making informed coverage decisions.
• Spearhead marketing initiatives.
• Develop and execute underwriting strategies to achieve profitability, growth, and portfolio management objectives.
• Manage and mentor underwriting staff, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to company standards.
• Collaborate with actuarial, claims, legal, and distribution partners to design innovative risk solutions for clients and brokers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and industry partners.
• Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks to inform underwriting decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree and/or professional designations preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of professional experience, with insurance industry experience a plus.
• Superior Communication skills, attention to detail
• Comfort negotiating directly with underwriters
• Superior skills with MS Office, specifically MS Excel

Job Title: Compliance Specialist

Prominent specialty insurance carrier is seeking a Compliance Specialist to join their growing team. The Compliance Specialist will work directly with multiple departments, including Legal, Underwriting, Actuarial, and IT, during the process of filing forms and rates, and implementing those filings internally once approvals are received. 

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the development and preparation of all specialty rate, rule, and form filings.
• Prepare and submit specialty filings via SERFF/RAMP.
• Review state objections and submit approved responses to applicable states.
• Oversee the need for filing extensions, resubmissions, and withdrawals while taking into consideration state restrictions and deadlines.
• Communicate with regulators as needed to facilitate filing approvals.
• Coordinate and document all activities surrounding the filing, approval, and disapproval of all specialty filings.
• Assist in the implementation of approved rates, rules, and forms, including updating internal tracking tools and communicating with IT on any rate, rule or form changes required in the system.
• Understand product initiatives and participate in the product planning process by analyzing competitor products and tracking state regulatory changes.
• Assist the Compliance Manager in the development of compliance training materials and best practices.
• Help facilitate a response to both internal and State Insurance Department audits, including coordinating with other departments and compiling necessary information.

Experience and Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in the insurance regulatory/state filings field.
• Advanced working knowledge of the SERFF or RAMP system.
• Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
• Strong organizational and project/time management skills.
• Flexible and open to a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

Ideal candidate has Carrier or regulatory experience in the auto P&C space. MUST have auto regulatory compliance experience. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manage the Compliance Program to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations governing property and casualty insurance.
Monitor evolving regulatory requirements related to property and casualty insurance and advise Senior Leadership on regulatory changes, risks, and the impact of new laws or rules.
Conduct periodic compliance risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and establish effective mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance risks are assessed across all areas of operations, including product, underwriting, claims, and distribution channels.
Research applicable laws and develop and maintain policies, procedures, and controls to minimize compliance risks across all business lines.
