Overview
Seeking a highly skilled Senior Complex General Liability Claims Examiner to join a team. This role is responsible for managing and adjudicating complex general liability claims from inception to resolution, ensuring timely and accurate investigation, evaluation, and settlement in accordance with company guidelines and applicable state laws.

Job Description
- Handle a caseload of complex and high-exposure General Liability claims, including bodily injury, property damage, slip-and-fall, premises liability, and products liability.
- Conduct thorough investigations, including reviewing police reports, medical records, legal documents, and interviewing insureds, claimants, and witnesses.
- Evaluate coverage, determine liability, and set appropriate reserves based on claim complexity and exposure.
- Develop and execute strategic action plans for timely and cost-effective resolution.
- Work closely with defense counsel, experts, and other external partners to manage litigation strategy and settlement negotiations.
- Attend mediations, settlement conferences and trials as required.
- Maintain accurate claim notes and documentation in the claim management system.
- Ensure compliance with all state regulatory requirements and internal claims handling guidelines.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior examiners and assist with complex coverage questions.
- Collaborate with underwriting and risk management teams to provide claims insights and feedback.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience handling complex General Liability claims; prior litigation management experience required.
- Strong knowledge of insurance policy forms, coverage interpretations, and claims handling practices.
- Familiarity with jurisdictional regulations and legal statutes across multiple states.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume, complex caseload effectively.
- Strong proficiency with claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; industry designations such as AIC, CPCU, or ARM a plus.
