Job Summary
The Chief Operating Officer is responsible for overseeing all operational and sales functions within the agency. This role requires hands-on leadership in property & casualty operations, with a strong emphasis on driving revenue growth, optimizing processes, and managing both people and partnerships. The ideal candidate brings extensive P&C industry expertise, proven production experience, and a track record of leading sales and operational teams to achieve strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with account managers to ensure client needs are met and service standards are upheld
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with carrier partners and external vendors
• Lead recruitment, performance management, and, when necessary, termination decisions for operational and sales staff
• Make executive-level decisions on resource allocation, process improvements, and organizational priorities
• Oversee departmental budgets, forecasts, and operational metrics to drive profitability and efficiency
• Provide coaching and mentorship to direct reports, fostering a culture of accountability and growth
• Participate in industry events as a company representative, with limited travel required

Qualifications/Requirements

• 10 years of experience in the insurance industry preferred, with at least 5 years in property & casualty operations or sales leadership
• Demonstrated success as a practice leader, regional sales director, producer, or account manager with P&C focus
• Strong production experience and sales acumen, with a proven ability to drive revenue growth in a sales-driven environment
• Exceptional leadership skills, including people-management, cross-functional communication, and change management
• Ability to wear multiple hats; a strategic thinker who can also execute day-to-day tasks independently
• Solid decision-making capabilities, with experience making high-stakes operational and personnel judgments
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners
• Holds an active P&C (Property and Casualty) insurance license

Compensation Package

• Compensation: Between $160K–$240K (based on experience)

Chief Operating Officer

About the Role:
A Dallas based insurance agency in the construction space is seeking a highly skilled Chief Operating Officer to join their growing team. Partnering with the President, the Chief Operating Officer will have overarching responsibility for all day-to-day operations. Ideal candidate has experience running the office for a small to mid-sized insurance agency handling bookkeeping/accounting, HR, IT, etc.  Must have insurance experience, preferably with an agency, wholesaler, or mga.

Key Responsibilities:

● Office Management- assist with running the office. 

● Handle bookkeeping/accounting.

● Has a working knowledge of the agency management software (TAM and Applied Epic).

● Improve daily organization and workflows to ensure maximum operational efficiency.

● Ensures regulatory compliance of the agency.

● Monitor production and monthly goals for all producers. Team of 6-7. 

● Oversees, implements, and refines agency budget and company operations to ensure company targets for revenue and profitability are met.

● Maintains and builds trusted relationships with key customers, partners, vendors, management, and stakeholders.

● Supports the President in all aspects of the business and operations.

Skills:

● 5 + years of COO experience from an insurance agency preferred.

● Property & Casualty agency management system preferably Applied Epic.

● Someone with an accounting background is a must.

● Bachelor’s Degree in accounting preferred

● Strong insurance knowledge.

● Someone computer and tech savvy is a must.

● Creative problem-solving skills along with exceptional time management and attention to detail.

Compensation Package:

● Compensation: Between $125k-$175k (based on experience) + bonus opportunities.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial Insurance Department Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee and manage the commercial insurance department, ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the team. This role requires a hands-on approach to leadership and a strong understanding of commercial insurance products and industry regulations.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of commercial insurance professionals, providing guidance, support, and training as needed
- Develop and implement departmental strategies and goals to drive business growth and client satisfaction
- Oversee a team of account managers in the Workers' Compensation renewal department
- Foster strong relationships with clients, brokers, and insurance carriers to promote business development and retention
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to inform decision-making and strategy development
- Collaborate with other department managers and senior leadership to ensure seamless integration and alignment of business objectives
- Monitor department performance and KPIs, identifying and addressing areas for improvement and development

Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, or related field; advanced degree or professional certifications are a plus
- An active P&C (Property & Casualty) license is required
- Proven experience in commercial insurance, including underwriting, pricing, and risk management
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders
- In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance products, regulations, and market dynamics
- Previous Workers' Compensation experience is required
- Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools
- Preferred Agency Management System experience: AMS360
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to drive innovation and change within the department
