Job Summary:

An independent insurance agency located in Edwardsville, IL is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join their team! They prefer two years of accounting experience and someone who is proficient in Excel and Outlook.  In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting various financial functions. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting skills, an understanding of financial regulations, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
General accounting and bookkeeping,  processing bank deposits and reconciliations,  accounts receivable and payable,  creating & evaluating agency accounting reports,  identify and communicate accounting and bookkeeping matters with other team members, direct oversite of book reconciliation for assets and liabilities and manage month end closing procedures.  

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or similar environment.

Skills:
Experience with an agency management system would be helpful but not required. 
Looking for a candidate that is professional with good analytical skills, attention to detail and works well with a team.
Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to work with complex formulas and financial models.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Insurance industry experience is a plus.

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper to join their team. The ideal candidate must have insurance agency experience and must have experience using the agency management system Epic. You will manage full-cycle accounting processes from maintaining accurate financial records, handling accounts payable, and financial reporting. The accountant/bookkeeper will work closely with management to ensure timely and accurate reporting, compliance with GAAP, and smooth ongoing financial operations. It is critical that the candidate has experience using Epic.

Key Responsibilities

Record Financial Transactions: Accurately record financial transactions. Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are correctly classified and balanced.

Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring invoices are processed and payments are made on time.

Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly.

*A high attention to detail and well organized.
