Job Summary

The Director, Property & Casualty Actuarial Pricing and Modeling will lead the development, implementation, and enhancement of pricing strategies, actuarial models, and analytical tools to support profitable growth across the company’s P&C product lines. This role will oversee a team of actuaries and analysts, partner with underwriting and product teams, and provide strategic insight to senior leadership on market trends, portfolio performance, and risk assessment.

COMPENSATION:

• $170,000 - $200,000/year

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Direct the design, development, and refinement of pricing models for all P&C products.
• Oversee competitive analysis and recommend pricing strategies to maintain market competitiveness while achieving profitability targets.
• Develop predictive models, segmentation analyses, and other advanced analytics to assess risk and improve pricing accuracy.
• Ensure actuarial methodologies and assumptions align with corporate objectives and industry best practices.
• Partner with underwriting, product management, claims, and finance to support data-driven decision-making.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of actuaries and data analysts.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the actuarial department.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• ACAS or FCAS designation required.
• 10+ years of P&C actuarial experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on pricing and modeling.
• Strong understanding of personal and/or commercial lines insurance products, rate-making methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in statistical modeling tools and programming languages (e.g., R, Python, SQL, SAS, Emblem, Radar).
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex projects, and communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Actuarial Audit Manager to join our client's growing audit team. Ideal candidate has actuarial and audit experience within the insurance industry. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Drive the overall risk assessment and planning on individual audits, determining the right audit scope, key risks to address, and most suitable audit techniques to employ alongside the Senior Audit Manager, Data Scientist and Head of Audit.
• Keep the business safe by executing of a portfolio of audit engagements end-to-end, including occasional global audits across different regions.

A leading P&C insurance carrier is seeking an Actuary to join their team. In this role you will support all product lines of insurance by accessing data, performing rate reviews, reserve analysis and other actuarial studies; preparing rate filings and responding to inquiries from regulatory departments; and working with accounting, external actuaries, consultants and auditors.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Oversee and manage projects related to Pricing.
• Lead the ratemaking process and develop pricing indications so as to attain an underwriting profit.
• Perform various Pricing projects, including but not limited to quarterly rate adequacy reviews, internal rate indications, and analysis of internal and external data
• Support and develop Pricing tools, and advance Pricing methodology in terms of data capture and analysis.
• Lead the review of new product strategies, design, pricing, and implementation of rate changes.
• Price alternative structures as needed.
• Interact as needed with relevant regulatory authorities on filings. Testify as required in support of rate filings.
• Lead the review of new product strategies, design, pricing, and implementation of rate changes.
• Drive process improvements and provide insight to leadership from an actuarial perspective.
• Oversee the Reserving process and projects related to Reserving, including but not limited to quarterly reserve reviews and monthly IBNR roll forwards. 
• Lead the development of new Reserving tools, advance reserving methodology in terms of data capture and analysis and lead the design and implementation of new processes.
• Work with accounting, external actuaries, and auditors to provide accurate data, provide reconciliations and assist with calculations, resolve discrepancies and assist in any way necessary to assist in the completion of accurate financial statements with the Statement of Actuarial Opinion.
• Manage competing internal interests and workload with respect to data requirements, ratemaking, rate filings and product development.
• Provide data in support of actuarial, product and underwriting, and reserving initiatives.
• Perform data manipulation, analysis, and automation, including but not limited to data cleansing and automated reporting.
• Perform proper data validation and reconciliation exercises.
• Present results and conclusions of analysis to other departments and senior management.
• Keep up to date on the insurance environment, regulatory changes, social influences, and new actuarial and data methods. 
• Provide leadership on special projects related to ratemaking, reserving and financial analysis projects.

Education and/or Experience: 

• A Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, risk management or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of actuarial experience, with homeowners and commercial lines experience preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, Work and Power Point.
• Strong data and programming experience in an insurance environment is desired.
• Proficient knowledge of SQL, MySQL, Oracle, or similar database languages is desired.
• Proficient knowledge of R, Python, VBA, or similar programming languages is desired.
• Advanced presentation skills.
• Project management skills.  Lead project teams.

Licenses and / or Certifications:

• Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) highly desired.
• Commitment to attain Fellowship in the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) desired but not required.
