Job Title: Property Treaty Underwriter 
Location: Florham Park, NJ (four days onsite)
Industry: Insurance / Reinsurance

We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Property Treaty Underwriter to support the underwriting function of a well-established reinsurance operation in North America. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with at least 5 years of industry experience, including 3 years in property treaty underwriting, who is looking to grow their career in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist underwriters in all aspects of the reinsurance underwriting process.

  • Review broker-submitted reinsurance submissions and enter data into underwriting platforms.

  • Extract and compile critical submission data to prepare technical worksheets.

  • Process and validate submission data for use in exposure and experience rating tools.

  • Utilize catastrophe modeling software to analyze risks and include results in underwriting files.

  • Analyze and review reinsurance contract wordings.

  • Maintain accurate and organized digital underwriting and contract records.

  • Track the progress of new and renewal submissions through the workflow process.

  • Enter bound accounts into internal systems and upload relevant contract documentation.

  • Generate underwriting and management reports.

  • Support internal departments by responding to accounting and operations-related queries.

  • Coordinate information and documentation for client audits.

  • Maintain marketing materials and scheduling support for underwriters.

  • Participate in broker and client meetings as needed.

  • Support underwriting projects and administrative tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the reinsurance or insurance industry, including 3 years in a property treaty underwriting role.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Proactive and solutions-oriented mindset with a collaborative team approach.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
