Complex Case Unit Specialist

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join a Complex Case Unit. This role involves managing and resolving complex commercial claims and coverage issues with significant exposure. The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical knowledge, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Compensation Package

  • Competitive salary: $110,000 - $120,000 annually

Responsibilities

  • Verify coverage and coverage primacy for new losses.
  • Adjust complex claims with significant exposure, including investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution within authority levels.
  • Evaluate and implement solutions for problematic files.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on complex coverage issues and claims resolution.
  • Manage and oversee independent adjusters and attorneys, including those defending insured parties.
  • Represent the company at mediations and trials.
  • Communicate professionally with insured parties, claimants, agents, attorneys, and reinsurers.
  • Establish and maintain reserves, providing consistent updates to management.
  • Assist in developing technical knowledge within the department.
  • Serve as a resource for team members and assist in training new employees as assigned.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications/Requirements

Education/Training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Professional insurance designation preferred.
  • Adjuster licensing required.

Experience/Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience adjusting bodily injury claims.
  • Experience in adjusting commercial auto claims required.
  • Preferred experience in adjusting transportation (trucking) liability claims.
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance and tort law, legal principles, and medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in insurance coverage and claims processes.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and email.
