Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster to join a team. This role involves managing workers’ compensation claims of medium complexity and severity, This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work environment (onsite Tuesdays and Wednesdays).
Compensation Package
- Hourly Rate: $40 - $44/hour
- Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Responsibilities
- Collaborate and communicate with agents, policyholders, and internal stakeholders to manage claims of medium complexity/severity.
- Investigate losses, identify coverage, determine compensability, and analyze documents and legal pleadings.
- Develop and execute action plans to resolve claims proactively, including evaluating damages, negotiating settlements, and concluding claims in a timely manner.
- Establish and maintain accurate reserves to reflect financial exposure.
- Engage and manage external resources as needed while monitoring and controlling associated costs.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to manage litigated claims effectively.
- Review and interpret commercial insurance policies and communicate coverage issues clearly, both verbally and in writing.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years handling workers’ compensation indemnity claims of medium complexity/severity.
- Licensing: Must be licensed to handle claims in Arizona (certification required), as well as Utah, Texas, and Colorado.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with Guidewire (Claims Center) is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Certifications: AIC or SLA certification is preferred.
- Personal Equipment: Must have access to a personal computer.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
