Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Workers’ Compensation Claims Adjuster to join a team. This role involves managing workers’ compensation claims of medium complexity and severity, This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work environment (onsite Tuesdays and Wednesdays).

Compensation Package

• Hourly Rate: $40 - $44/hour
• Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and communicate with agents, policyholders, and internal stakeholders to manage claims of medium complexity/severity.
• Investigate losses, identify coverage, determine compensability, and analyze documents and legal pleadings.
• Develop and execute action plans to resolve claims proactively, including evaluating damages, negotiating settlements, and concluding claims in a timely manner.
• Establish and maintain accurate reserves to reflect financial exposure.
• Engage and manage external resources as needed while monitoring and controlling associated costs.
• Collaborate with legal counsel to manage litigated claims effectively.
• Review and interpret commercial insurance policies and communicate coverage issues clearly, both verbally and in writing.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years handling workers’ compensation indemnity claims of medium complexity/severity.
• Licensing: Must be licensed to handle claims in Arizona (certification required), as well as Utah, Texas, and Colorado.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with Guidewire (Claims Center) is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
• Certifications: AIC or SLA certification is preferred.
• Personal Equipment: Must have access to a personal computer.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

This individual will play a key role in building and delivering training programs that drive consistency, technology adoption, operational efficiency, and employee effectiveness across the organization. This position will partner closely with department leadership to ensure employees understand the systems, tools, workflows, and processes necessary to succeed in their roles. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of insurance operations knowledge, training experience, and process improvement expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of training initiatives across core systems, tools, and operational processes
• Partner with department leaders to create role-based onboarding, training paths, and process documentation
• Support adoption of technology platforms and operational best practices across teams
• Reinforce training standards and identify recurring process gaps, inefficiencies, or workflow inconsistencies
• Assist in onboarding and foundational insurance education for new employees
• Develop and maintain SOPs, process guides, checklists, and training materials
• Help implement quality assurance initiatives and partner with leadership on targeted development opportunities
• Participate in workflow improvement initiatives that enhance client experience and operational effectiveness
• Manage the full learning lifecycle, including needs assessment, curriculum development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support organizational consistency and continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent industry experience
• 8+ years of Commercial P&C insurance experience within an agency or brokerage environment
• 5+ years of experience in training, onboarding, process improvement, or operational implementation
• Experience supporting system rollouts, workflow documentation, and technology adoption initiatives
• Strong understanding of operational best practices and process standardization
• Ability to analyze workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements
• Strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and agency management systems
• Insurance designations are a plus

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $120K–$130K 
• Annual performance bonus: 10% Target
